Homework & Teams
Can we please remind parents that all homework will be set for pupils through our home learning platform ‘Teams’. Pupils will have a week to complete their homework tasks and submit their work to the teachers. Year groups will send messages out, via teams, to inform you of the set day that homework will be given and the day that it is expected back in.
What to expect each week:
- Spelling lists that pupils will need to practice
- A topic grid – pupils are able to select from the grid pieces of homework (relating to their topic) that they would like to complete. Pupils are to complete a topic piece of homework each week
- An English or maths activity relating to something that they have covered during the week. English and maths will alternate each week.
All of the above will be set as ‘assignments’ through Teams. This means that pupils are able to ‘turn in’ their work to their teacher via the Teams platform (rather than bringing in any paper copies into school). Most of the work that is set, will be done on editable worksheets that pupils are able send back to their teacher for marking/feedback. It is also possible to photograph any pieces of homework which can also be sent to the teacher via Teams – this is particularly handy if pupils have made or created something at home that they would like to share.
All pupils have their passwords to access the learning platform at home and have been spoken to in school about how they can do this. If anyone has any issues in accessing this, please do not hesitate to contact us via the office Tel: 0121 453 2520 or
All pupils have a reading record that they are bringing home. Please can these records be completed whenever pupils are reading at home. Teachers have ensured that pupils now have reading books that they are able to take home. If a pupil is needing to change a reading book, they will need to ensure that the book is brought back into school by Thursday of each week as the books will need to be quarantined before redistribution. All children have access to Bug Club too and this a great resource to encourage pupils to be reading at home.
