Weekly Focused Assemblies 2023-2024

Week Beginning 04/09/23

In our assembly this week, we welcomed the children back to school for the Autumn term.

We shared with the children and reminded them of our 6 values here at RHJS. We value:

We spoke about how every half term we focus on one particular value and discuss what this means and what it might look like here at school and in the wider community. This half term, we are focussing on:

The children were reminded of our Golden Norms and how these are displayed in corridors, in the playground, in classrooms, in offices and in in the canteen. We put them everywhere so that we can always be reminded of how we can ensure that we are always aiming to make good choices. These are the golden norms:

Some members of staff then talked about someone or something that inspires them to make good choices so that they can be the very best versions of themselves. Having a role model or something to look up to allows us to have greater aspirations and it allows us to strive to make good choices.

Mrs Tilley spoke about the Lionesses, Mr Flangan spoke about inspiring quotes and Mr Jones spoke about Lionel Messi.

The children were asked to reflect on following our golden norms to allow them to make good choices this year and they were asked to think of someone/something that inspires them.
