No Outsiders at Rednal Hill Junior School

Everyone Different, Everyone Welcome!

We use the No Outsiders Lessons to enhance our PSHE curriculum. No Outsiders is a programme that promotes an ethos of inclusion and acceptance to prepare pupils for life in modern Britain. No Outsiders helps us to:

  • Develop responsible, respectful and active citizens who are able to play their part and become actively involved in public life as adults
  • Develop and deepen pupils’ understanding of the fundamental British Values of democracy, individual liberty, the rule of law, and mutual respect and tolerance
  • Promote equality of opportunity so that pupils can thrive together, understanding that difference is a positive, not a negative, and that individual characteristics make a person unique
  • Promote an inclusive environment regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation

These lessons are taught 1 x per half term and discussion is led through thought-provoking and engaging books. Here are the books that are used in each year group.

No Outsiders discussions in school

Once a fortnight, there is a class discussion with the principles of No Outsiders at the heart of the discussion topic. We’d like to share with you the discussions that the children have during class and maybe you would like to discuss this even further at home with your child. Please click on the link below to access the PowerPoints used with the children.
